ISTANBUL (AA) – Fenerbahce defeated Konyaspor 5-1 at home on Saturday evening in the Turkish football league, marking their second 5-goal victory in the young season.

Fenerbahce's goal-scorers were Garry Rodrigues (11'), Mathias Zanka (14'), Ozan Tufan (28'), Luiz Gustavo (78') and Vedat Muriqi (82'), while Konyaspor's sole goal came in the 16th minute — albeit an own goal by Fenerbahce defender Serdar Aziz.

Compared to last season — which was nightmarish for the Istanbul club — this season is going swimmingly, as Fenerbahce found themselves in the number two spot with 17 points in 9 matches as of Saturday evening.

Fenerbahce tripled their goal count compared to last season's 9th match week, when they only managed to win twice and score 6 goals.

This season, Fenerbahce have 5 wins and they scored 18 goals, conceding 9.

On the home pitch, Fenerbahce have set a high-scoring pace in front of their fans, scoring 13 of their 18 goals at home.

The goal distribution is also spread around the club, with 10 different players having scored for Fenerbahce so far.

Vedat Muriqi scored 5 goals, while Nabil Dirar, Garry Rodrigues, Tolga Cigerci, and Mathias Zanka scored 2 apiece. Victor Moses, Emre Belozoglu, Ferdi Kadioglu, Ozan Tufan and Luiz Gustavo also each chipped in with a single goal for the club.
