ALEPPO, Syria — (AA) – Four members of the Syrian National Army (SNA) were killed on Thursday following clashes with members of the terrorist YPG/PKK who tried to infiltrate liberated areas in northern Syria.

Military sources speaking to Anadolu Agency on the condition of anonymity said the terrorist organization tried to cross the lines of contact with the SNA near the Sajur River, igniting clashes between the two sides which claimed the lives of the SNA members.

Meanwhile, the Turkish artillery responded to the infiltration attempt by targeting YPG/PKK sites in the city of Manbij, northern Syria.

On October 9, 2019, the Turkish armed forces and the Syrian National Army jointly conducted the Operation Peace Spring east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria, to cleanse the area of YPG/PKK and ISIS terrorists, as well as to establish a safe haven for the return of Syrian refugees.
