UPDATE 3 – France: 3 killed after gas explosion in Paris bakery

PARIS (AA) – At least three people were killed and dozens were injured after a gas explosion hit a bakery in the French capital Paris on Saturday.

On his Twitter account, Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borrell voiced sorrow over the killing of three people, including a Spanish woman.

Earlier, Paris prosecutor’s office said in a statement that two firefighters were among the dead. The office said 47 people were also injured, 10 of them seriously, as a result of the explosion.

According to police, a fire broke out, followed by an explosion, in the bakery on Rue de Trevise in the 9th arrondissement of north-central Paris.
