UPDATES HEADLINE, MURDER-SUICIDE
WASHINGTON (AA) – Two adult males are dead in an apparent murder-suicide on the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) campus, the school and the Los Angeles Police Department said Wednesday.
The school previously warned students to stay away from the Engineering IV building where the shootings took place and said police were looking for a shooter.
But following confirmation of the apparent murder-suicide, the school lifted a lockdown order and reopened campus.
President Barack Obama was briefed on the situation while aboard Air Force One and asked his team to keep him informed of any developments, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said.
UCLA is home to nearly 30,000 undergraduate students.
