Turkish deputy premier meets Pakistani envoy

ANKARA (AA) – Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdag on Thursday met Pakistan's ambassador in Ankara Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi.

During the meeting at Cankaya Palace in Ankara, Akdag expressed willingness to enhance cooperation in all fields with Pakistan.

He said: “For us, Pakistan is a brotherly country. They always have been throughout history. ”

He welcomed Qazi's visit and conveyed the government's readiness to move bilateral relations with Pakistan to the highest level.

Qazi invited Akdag to Pakistan Day celebrations to be held on Friday in Ankara.

As part of the celebrations, the bridges in Istanbul, connecting Asia and Europe, will be illuminated in the colors of the Pakistani flag, according to a statement by the Pakistan Embassy.

Aerial acrobatic team Solo Turk and T-129 ATAK helicopters of Turkey will also participate in the fly-past ceremony during the Pakistan Day parade in Islamabad on Friday, it said.
