ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index went down 0.43 percent to close at 92,790.99 points on Wednesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended day with a 398.28-point fall from Tuesday's close of 93,189.27 points, while it started the midweek trading day at 93,100.27 points.
One U.S. dollar traded for 6.6280 Turkish liras as of 5 p.m. local time (1400GMT) Wednesday, down from 6.6820 at the previous close.
The euro/lira exchange rate was 7.7050 by market close, versus 7.7170 at Tuesday's close, and one British pound traded for 8.6080 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 8.5790 at the previous close.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, one ounce of gold traded for $1,193.10 as of 4.30 p.m. local time (1330GMT) Wednesday, while it was $1,193.00 at the previous close.
As of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT), the price of Brent oil stood at $77.31 per barrel — hovering between $76.91 and $78.10 during Wednesday — climbing from around $66 at the beginning of 2018.
