Turkey: Football clubs launch campaign for ailing youth

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's biggest football clubs Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray launched an aid campaign for Kaan Aydin, a Turkish youngster who has been suffering from epilepsy disease for the last 17 years.

In a Twitter post, Fenerbahce underlined that Aydin needs a total of 150,000 Turkish Liras ($31,000) to have a much needed surgery.

The hashtag #KaanHayatBekliyor (Kaan waiting for his life) trended on Turkish Twitter.

Besiktas and Galatasaray also shared Fenerbahce's post, which includes bank account details that is allowed by the Istanbul Governorate to be opened for Aydin's surgery funding.

Aydin — who is from northwestern Tekirdag province — has been receiving treatment in Istanbul's Yeditepe University recently. His family cannot afford the necessary money for the surgery.

Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are all in this campaign to be hope for Aydin.
