Tajikistan president receives Turkey's defense minister

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan (AA) – A visiting Turkey's national defense minister on Thursday met with the president of Tajikistan at the Palace of Nations in Dushanbe, the country's capital.

According to diplomatic sources, Emomali Rahmon received Hulusi Akar at the palace, where the two discussed ways to improve bilateral cooperation in the fields of defense, security, military training, and the defense industry.

During the meeting, Akar expressed his contentment over the cooperation in the fight against the terrorist organization FETO.

He also underlined the countries' shared history, cultural, and religious ties, particularly the poet and philosopher Jalal ad-Din Rumi.

Later, Akar met with Turkish Ambassador to Dushanbe Emre Zeki Karagol and Tajik business community at the embassy and discuss investment opportunities in Turkey.
