ANKARA (AA) – Spanish football club Sevilla said on Wednesday that one of its players contracted coronavirus.

"A member of the first team's squad tested positive in Covid-19. The affected player is asymptomatic, in good health and is isolated at home," Sevilla said in a statement but did not cite the name of the player.

The Andalusian club tested its all players, coaching staff and club employees on Sunday.

Sevilla said that it "temporarily suspended the team's training sessions" over the positive case and disinfected the training facilities as part of the virus measures.

The La Liga club has done two new tests as all the first tests "have been negative".

Meanwhile the results of the second tests — held on Wednesday — will be unveiled on Thursday.

Sevilla added that the players are expecting to return to the individual training sessions Thursday afternoon.
