ANKARA (AA) – Italian football club Roma on Friday signed Ajax Amsterdam winger Justin Kluivert.
Roma announced their new signing on their website as the Dutch footballer inked five-year contract running out on June 30, 2023.
The Italian club paid an initial €17.25 million ($20.1 million) transfer fee to Ajax to complete his move.
“I’m feeling great, I’m at an unbelievable club and I can’t wait to start, ” said Kluivert, who is the son of former Barcelona and Ajax striker Patrick.
“I think that Justin is already one of the most exciting young players in European football, ” remarked Monchi, the Roma's sporting director.
During 2017-2018 season 19-year-old Kluivert scored 11 goals for Ajax in 36 club appearances.
