IDLIB, Syria (AA) – Ten people were killed and another 25 injured Tuesday when regime warplanes struck a crowded market in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province, a local civil defense official said.

Mohamed Ali told Anadolu Agency that regime warplanes had targeted a market in Binnish, an opposition-held town north of Idlib city, the provincial capital.

Casualties included a number of women and children, Ali said, going on to note that most of the injured — many of whom were in critical condition — had since been taken to field hospitals by civil defense teams.

Last week, Syrian warplanes struck a refugee camp near Idlib’s town of Sarmada, leaving at least 27 people dead, including several women and children.
