ISTANBUL (AA) – Porto forward Moussa Marega walked off the field after being subjected to racist abuse from fans on Sunday night.

After the 28-year-old Malian star scored the winning goal in the 60th minute, he celebrated by pointing to his skin.

He left the field in the 71st minute as his side won 2-1 against Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal's Primeira Liga.

As he left, Marega pointed thumbs-down at the crowd.

His teammates and Vitoria Guimaraes footballers tried to persuade him to stay on the field, but he was substituted in the 72nd minute.

Later, Marega took to Instagram to vent out his feelings.

"I hope I never see you on a football field again. You are a disgrace!" he told the racist football fans.

“And I also thank the referees for not defending me and for giving me a yellow card because I defend my skin color,” he added.
