Pakistan’s Khan invites Turkey’s Erdogan to Islamabad

<p>By Islamuddin Sajid </p> <p>ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) – Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday invited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Pakistan, an official said.</p> <p>Khan extended his invitation for Erdogan during his meeting with Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu at the prime minister’s office in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.</p> <p>Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi was also present at the meeting.</p> <p>Khan expressed satisfaction over the upward trajectory of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey. </p> <p>&quot;Pakistan and Turkey have always stood by each other and Pakistani government would further strengthen its ties with Turkey,&quot; Khan added.</p> <p>Soylu, for his part, assured that Turkey will provide all possible support for Pakistan. </p> <p>He also invited Khan for a visit to Turkey.</p> <p>Soylu — who is on an official visit to Pakistan — congratulated Khan on his being elected the prime minister and assuming the office, according to a statement by prime minister’s office. </p> <p>Earlier on his arrival to Islamabad, Soylu was warmly welcomed by Afridi at the Islamabad airport.</p>
