Pakistan-Turkey naval exercise ends

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) – A four-day-long joint naval exercise by Turkey and Pakistan concluded on Tuesday, officials said.

The first Turgut Reis-18 exercises were held in the Arabian Sea to enhance interoperability and contributed to regional maritime security, the Pakistan Navy said in a statement.

The exercise covered a number of areas, including anti-air warfare operations, communication drills, aircraft and helicopters.

Flag officers praised the competence of both navies and expressed their satisfaction at the successful conclusion of the exercise.

On Friday, the TCG Gelibolu, a Turkish Navy frigate, was warmly welcomed by Pakistan Navy on its arrival in Karachi.
