ANKARA (AA) – The Maltese president will pay an official two-day visit to Ankara on Wednesday to discuss bilateral ties as well as Turkish-EU relations with her Turkish counterpart, presidential sources said on Tuesday.
Marie Louise Coleiro Preca is expected to arrive in the Turkish capital on Jan. 23 to discuss “regional and international developments”, possible ways to increase bilateral cooperation and Turkey’s EU accession process with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to a statement by the Turkish presidency.
Coleiro Preca is also expected to attend a forum that will see the participation of business leaders from both countries.
The statement highlighted that this would be the first presidential visit from Malta to Turkey.
