Football: Ajax topple VVV-Venlo 13-0 in Eredivisie

ISTANBUL (AA) – Ajax toppled 10-man VVV-Venlo 13-0 in Dutch Eredivisie League on Saturday.

Playing at Venlo's De Koel stadium, Ajax found five goals with their 19-year-old forward Lassina Traore.

Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar grabbed two goals each among seven different Ajax scorers.

In addition to them, Dusan Tadic, Antony Matheus dos Santo, Daley Blind and Lisandro Martinez's goals sealed a comfortable victory for Ajax.

Also, VVV-Venlo defender Christian Kum was sent off in the 52nd minute, when the score was only 4-0.

Having 15 points Ajax jumped to first place, while VVV-Venlo are in 10th place with five points after six league games.

Today's beatdown marked their biggest-ever victory in the Dutch top flight, surpassing 1972's 12-1 win against Vitesse Arnhem.
