ANKARA (AA) – Spanish basketball club KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz on Thursday extended the contract of head coach Dusko Ivanovic until 2021.

The 62-year-old Montenegrin returned to the club last December and led them to their fourth Spanish league title earlier this week.

This is Ivanovic’s third stint managing Baskonia, with the first from 2000 to 2005 and then from 2008 to 2012.

The club has won three of its four Spanish league titles with him – 2002, 2010, and 2020 – and also clinched the Spanish Copa del Rey thrice – 2002, 2004, and 2009.

The team has been victorious in 412 of the 613 games played under Ivanovic’s supervision.

Baskonia defeated Barcelona 69-67 in the Endesa League final on Tuesday to win their first Spanish league title in 10 years.

In his 27-year coaching career, Ivanovic has managed Turkish side Besiktas, Russia's Khimki, Panathinaikos in Greece, Spain's Barcelona, French side Limoges, and Fribourg in Switzerland.
