COVID-19 death toll continues to rise in Sudan

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AA) – Sudan reported more deaths and new infections Thursday from the coronavirus pandemic.

Health officials said two fatalities and 110 additional cases were registered, bringing its tally to 11,237, including 708 deaths.

The ministry said recoveries rose to 5,835 after 109 patients recovered.

Since originating in China last December, the COVID-19 pandemic has claimed more than 620,000 lives in 188 countries and regions.

More than 15 million cases have been reported worldwide, while an excess of 8.5 million patients have recovered, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
