Besiktas look to maintain winning momentum in league

ISTANBUL (AA) – Besiktas will look to keep their winning momentum when they play against Medipol Basaksehir in the Turkish Super Lig game on Friday.

The most anticipated game of week 30 will be played on Basaksehir's home ground, Fatih Terim Stadium at 7 p.m local time (1600GMT).

Winning the last five league games, Besiktas had a breathtaking performance in recent weeks, placing at top of Super Lig with 60 points.

On matchday 29, the Black Eagles gained the fifth successive win after beating Gaziantep 2-1 at the Vodafone Park.

Medipol Basaksehir, who are at the 16th spot with 29 points ended a 10-game victory drought, claiming a 1-0 away victory over Genclerbirligi, who sit bottom of the table.

– Both sides suffer from injures

The home side will lack some of the players in the week 30 opener.

Nacer Chadli, Junior Caicara, Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo, Fredrik Gulbrandsen, Mahmut Tekdemir, Junior Fernandes, and Leo Duarte are not expected to play against Besiktas due to their injures.

Besiktas' Turkish players Gokhan Tore and Cenk Tosun have injury problems.
