ANKARA (AA) – Atletico Madrid came from behind Wednesday to beat Athletic Bilbao 2-1 as they consolidated their lead at the top of the La Liga table.
Iker Muniain scored the opener in the 21st minute and Marcos Llorente made the score 1-1 in the first half stoppage time.
Luis Suarez converted a penalty in the 51st minute to give the home side a 2-1 lead at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
Atletico Madrid now lead La Liga with 62 points, six points ahead of Barcelona.
Athletic Bilbao collected 33 points to occupy eighth spot.
