53-year-old Japanese forward's contract extended

ANKARA (AA) – 53-year-old Kazuyoshi Miura, the oldest goal-scorer in Japanese football, has got his contract with Yokohama FC extended.

The J1 League side on Monday said Miura's contract was renewed for the upcoming season, which will start on Feb. 27.

He broke the record to become the oldest player ever to make an appearance in the Japanese league last September.

It will be the Japanese forward's 17th season with the Yokohama club, and 36th in his overall career.
