By Busra Nur Bilgic </p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – German tennis star Angelique Kerber on Wednesday advanced to the third round of the Australian Open by beating Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia.</p> <p>The three-time Grand Slam champion easily trounced Maia, winning 6-2 and 6-3. <br> <br> Kerber, 30, the world number two women’s seed, became the eighth active player to reach 100 wins in the grand slam. <br> <br> In the other game of the day, world number two in the men’s category, Rafael Nadal, defeated Aussie Matthew Ebden by 6-3, 6-2, and 6-2 to proceed to the third round. <br> <br> Seventeen-time Grand-Slam winner Nadal will face Australia’s Alex de Minaur, 19, in the third round.
