Wizards star Beal's massive effort unable to avoid loss

ANKARA (AA) – Washington Wizards lost to Milwaukee Bucks 134-137 in overtime in Monday's NBA game despite their star Bradley Beal's 55-point solo performance.

Beal scored a career-high 55 points for his team but the Bucks were the victors.

The Bucks' Greek superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo clocked up 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in Washington's Capital One Arena.

Khris Middleton of the Bucks was among key players to score 40 points against the Wizards.

The Bucks' shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo also posted a "double-double" with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

DiVincenzo's teammate, Eric Bledsoe had 23-point contribution.

For the losing side, Shabazz Napier scored 27 points.

Following this win, the Bucks, who led the Eastern Conference, had 49-8 win/loss record. They have already clinched to be in the 2020 NBA playoffs.

The defending NBA winners, Toronto Raptors were in the second place in standings as the Canada-based franchise had 42 wins but 15 losses.

The Wizards came 9th in the East with 20 wins and 36 losses.

Once the regular season ends, only the best eight teams from the Eastern and Western Conferences will be in the playoffs stage.
