NEW YORK (AA) – The stock market opened mixed on Wednesday, after two days of record performances.
The Dow added three points to start the day at 19,027.
The S&P 500, however, went down six points to 2,196 and the Nasdaq fell 25 points to open at 5,360.
After closing at record levels for two trading days in a row, investors have taken a short-term selling position Wednesday for quick profits, according to analysts.
Crude oil prices were also slightly down with investors taking sell-off positions.
At the first bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate was trading at $47.70 per barrel with a 0.9 percent decline, and the international benchmark Brent crude was at $48.90 a barrel — a 0.7 percent fall.
