KUWAIT CITY (AA) – A U.S. soldier deployed at an American military base in southern Kuwait has committed suicide, the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported Thursday.
According to a Kuwaiti Interior Ministry statement cited by KUNA, the soldier shot himself with his army-issued firearm.
The soldier — whose name has not been released — was reportedly rushed to a hospital where he died of his self-inflicted injury.
An investigation has reportedly been launched into the incident.
