US, Jordan conduct joint security exercises with Qatar

DOHA (AA) – Qatar’s Defense Ministry on Thursday announced the conclusion of joint security exercises carried out with the U.S. and Jordanian militaries.</p> <p>“These drills, which are held periodically between the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner countries, are intended to test our response to cross-border security threats,” the Defense Ministry said in an earlier statement.</p> <p>The just-concluded military exercises were also intended to bolster security ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which Qatar is set to host in late 2022.
