US Embassy vehicle kills motorcyclist in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) – A man was killed and another injured on Saturday when a U.S. Embassy car rammed into a motorcycle in Pakistan's capital Islamabad.

The car was being driven by the embassy's military attache, local broadcaster Geo News reported.

Ateeq Baig, a resident of Islamabad, was killed in the incident, the reports added.

Police did not arrest the U.S. official as he holds diplomatic immunity, however the vehicle was seized.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Faisal confirmed the reports.

“An accident involving a US embassy vehicle occurred in Islamabad. MOFA is looking into the matter. Investigations are being carried out, ” he tweeted.
