UPDATE – Turkish stocks fall 2 pct at close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index fell by 2.04 percent to close Wednesday at 101,645.82 points.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 104,338.99 points and lost 2,116.64 points from Tuesday's close of 103,762.46 points.
The benchmark stock index hovered between 101,657.00 and 104,455.10 points during Wednesday's trading.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 662.2 billion Turkish liras ($126 billion) by market close and the daily trading volume was nearly 8 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
On Wednesday, 17 stocks on the index were on the rise, while 81 were on the decline, and two were flat compared to the previous close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, private lenders Garanti, and Is Bankasi.
Shares of event organizer Flap were the top gainers — up 20.00 percent — and of interest-free lender Albaraka Turk dropped most by 19.81 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.2560 at close, slightly down from 5.2600 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/lira rate fell to 5.9360 at Wednesday's close, versus 5.9430 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 6.7860 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 6.7920 at close on Tuesday.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold stood at $1,311.80 by market close, identical with the previous close.
The price of Brent crude oil dropped to $63.59 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Wednesday, with a day range of $62.58 to $63.59.
