UPDATES WITH MORE DAILY FIGURES</p> <p>By Muhammed Ali Gurtas </p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the week up 0.54 percent to close at 91,687.04 points on Friday.</p> <p>Starting the day at 91,503.26 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged 490.73 points from the previous close.</p> <p>Climbing over 92,000 threshold, the BIST 100's daily low was 91,262.53 points during Friday's trading — 57 stocks on the index rose, 30 fell, and 13 were flat compared to the previous close.</p> <p>The daily trading volume of the benchmark index was 4.77 billion liras ($879 billion) while its market value totaled some 595 billion Turkish liras ($109 billion). </p> <p>Friday's trading volume leaders were the country's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, private lenders Garanti Bankasi and Akbank.</p> <p>Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding ($6.95 billion), Garanti Bankasi ($6.08 billion) and energy giant Tupras ($5.62 billion) were the most valuable companies on the BIST 100.</p> <p>Shares of furniture manufacturer Dogtas Kelebek Mobilya enjoyed the highest increase on Friday — up 7.38 percent — while stocks of conglomerate Tekfen Holding — involved in oil, power generation, construction and infrastructure — ended the day with the worst performance, falling 3.44 percent.</p> <p>One U.S. dollar traded for 5.4840 Turkish liras, versus Thursday's close of 5.4410. </p> <p>The euro/lira rate was 6.3190 by market close, up from 6.2660 at the previous close. </p> <p>One British pound traded for 7.0340 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 6.9610 at Thursday's close. </p> <p>In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,292.50 at daily close, versus $1,293.00 at the previous close. </p> <p>Hovering between $60.09 and $62.48 during the day, a barrel of Brent oil was sold for $60.70 as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Friday.
