UPDATE – Train accident in Denmark kills 6 people

UPDATES WITH NUMBER OF INJURED</p> <p>By Davut Colak</p> <p>COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AA) – Six people were killed in a passenger train accident in Denmark on Wednesday, according to rail operator DSB. </p> <p>The incident took place on the Great Belt Bridge linking the Danish islands of Zealand and Funen at around 07.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), DSB said in a statement.</p> <p>At least 16 people were also injured, according to police on the island of Funen. </p> <p>The passenger train carrying 131 people and 3 crew members was running from Odense to the capital Copenhagen when it hit a freight train going in the opposite direction.</p> <p>An investigation into the possible causes of the accident, which occurred during a heavy storm — has been launched. </p> <p>Part of the bridge closed to traffic due to the incident has been reopened.
