NEW YORK (AA) – Multiple people were killed in a shooting in Jacksonville, Florida on Sunday during a video game tournament, police said.
The incident took place in the Jacksonville Landing area, located along the St. Johns River.
Speaking to reporters, Sheriff Mike Williams said the area was cleared and there was no additional suspect.
"We have no outstanding suspects at this time. We have one suspect in this case, he is deceased at the scene," said Williams.
The sheriff said the suspect was a white male, and they "are still working to confirm his identity."
Earlier, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said one suspect was killed at the scene after the mass shooting at the riverfront mall. Many others were also wounded.
"We will release counts later on," Williams added.
At least four people have been killed and more than 10 others are injured, according to local media reports.
In February, a former student armed with an assault-style rifle killed 17 people at a high school in Parkland, Florida.
