UPDATE – More rockets hit Turkish border city

ADDS NUMBER OF INJURIES and KILLING OF DAESH MEMBERS

KILIS, Turkey (AA) – Two rocket projectiles fired from Syria have injured four people, including a pregnant woman, in Turkey’s southern border province of Kilis, according to local security sources.

According to sources speaking anonymously since they are not authorized to talk to the media, one rocket landed early Sunday morning in a yard in the Besevler neighborhood and the other one hit a parking area near Cumhuriyet Street.

The injured were taken to Kilis State Hospital. Police have increased the security measures in the region.

According to military sources, Turkish artillery fired on Daesh positions on the Syrian side of the border in retaliation, killing nine Daesh members.

Turkey has been under indiscriminate rocket attack from Syria since mid-January. In Kilis province alone, a total of 18 people have been killed and 60 others have been wounded as a result.
