UPDATES WITH MORE POLICE TWEETS

LONDON (AA) – Police announced Friday evening they were attending to an incident at London’s central Oxford Tube Station amid reports of gunshots fired in the area.
Hundreds of people were said to be in the area due to Black Friday sales.
Police said they were called at 4.38 p.m. local time to a “number of reports of shots fired on #OxfordStreet & underground at Oxford Circus tube station”.
“Police have responded as if the incident is terrorist related. Armed and unarmed officers are on scene and dealing along with colleagues from @BTP,” they said.
“We have not located any trace of suspects, evidence of shots fired or casualties,” police said in a later tweet.
“Officers still on scene. If you are in a building stay there,” they said.
“Please continue to avoid the area,” British Transport Police (BTP) also said on Twitter.
London transport authorities said Oxford Circus Station and Bond Street stations were now open.
BTP said there were not any casualties apart from a woman who received minor injuries during evacuation.
“Our response on #OxfordStreet has now been stood down, ” Met tweeted approximately one and a half hour after the initial response.
