WASHINGTON (AA) – Four people are dead in a shooting in Harford County, Maryland, local authorities said Thursday.
Snochia Moseley, 26, a temporary worker, shot six people — killing three and injuring three others — at a Rite-Aid distribution center before killing herself.
Moseley was last known to reside in Baltimore county, according to the sheriff's office. No motive was given.
The company released a statement that said it was “deeply saddened by the events” and it is working “closely with authorities” on the investigation.
“At 9:06 a.m. [1306 GMT] a report was received for shots fired at the Rite Aid distribution center, ” Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler said at a news conference.
Law enforcement did not fire any shots on the scene.
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan called the shooting “horrific ” and was closely monitoring the situation.
“The First Lady and I are grieving for the loss of life in today's shooting in Harford County and praying that those who were injured fully recover, ” Hogan said on Twitter.
The FBI Baltimore office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted Harford County authorities with the situation.
The shooting is the third within a 24-hour period across the nation.
Early Wednesday, there was a shooting at a software company in Wisconsin.
Another shooting at a municipal building in Pennsylvania left the shooter dead and four others injured.
In June, a gunman attacked a newspaper office in Annapolis, Maryland, killing five people.
