Turkish wrestler reaches European finals

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish athlete Riza Kayaalp qualified for the finals in the 2019 European Wrestling Championships in Romania on Friday.

Kayaalp beat his Estonian rival Heiki Nabi 4-0 in men's 130-kg greco-roman semis.

He will face his Georgian opponent Lakobi Kajaia in Saturday's final.

Kayaalp would become the European champion for the ninth time if he beats Kajaia.

Meanwhile, another Turkish male wrestler Fatih Cengiz will compete for the bronze medal on Saturday.

In the semifinals, Cengiz was beaten by his Russian opponent Roman Vlasov in men's 77-kg greco-roman category.
