Turkish stocks up at daily close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Thursday with a 0.48-percent hike to close at 102,129.99 points.

After opening the day at 101,923.55 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went up 484.17 points from the previous close.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.2990 as of the daily close, as it was 5.2560 at Wednesday's close.

One euro traded for 6.0030 liras, versus 5.9360 at the previous close.

By market close, the British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate was 6.8080, compared to Wednesday's close of 6.7860.

One ounce of gold was sold for $1,306.15 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, down from $1,311.80 at the previous close.

With a day range of $63.33 to $64.81, the price of Brent oil was around $63.52 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Thursday.

At the beginning of 2019, the price of Brent oil was around $53 per barrel.
