Turkish stocks up 0.47 pct at midweek close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday up 0.47 percent to close at 102,196.57 points.

After starting the day at 101,820.81 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 472.52 points from the previous close.

One ounce of gold was sold for $1,308.00 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, up from $1,296.20 at the previous close.

With a day range of $66.70 to $67.50, the price of Brent oil was around $67.33 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Wednesday.

At the beginning of 2019, the price of Brent oil was around $53 per barrel.
