Turkish stocks up 0.33% at week's opening

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index went up 0.33%, or 373.41 points, to start Monday at 114,057.03 points.

On Friday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.03% to 113,683.61 points with a daily trading volume of 8.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 5.9490 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, from 5.9580 at Friday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.6610, from 6.6460, and one British pound traded for 7.8150 Turkish liras, while it was 7.8140 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $67 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
