ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index went up 0.25 percent or 258.10 points to open at 104,652.83 points on Tuesday.
On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1.90 percent to close the day at 104,394.73 points with a daily trading volume of 7.22 billion Turkish liras ($1.37 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.2760 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared to 5.2680 at the previous close.
The euro/lira exchange rate was 5.9570, versus 5.9620 at the previous close. One British pound was exchanged for 6.8050 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY was 6.8030 by market close on Monday.
The price of Brent oil was around $61.80 per barrel as of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT) Tuesday.
