Turkish security forces seize 7 tons of marijuana

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's interior minister said Tuesday that seven tons of marijuana were seized during operations across Turkey.

Speaking at an event in Ankara, Suleyman Soylu said: “Before coming here I spoke to our Diyarbakir governor. They seized five tons of marijuana. ”

Besides the operation in the southeastern Diyarbakir province, Soylu, earlier on Tuesday, also said police seized two tons of marijuana in Istanbul, while 200 drug dealers were arrested in another operation in the northwestern Bursa province.

Soylu added that security forces continue operations despite rough winter conditions.
