Turkish security forces ‘neutralize’ five terrorists

<p>By Lale Koklu</p> <p>HATAY, Turkey (AA) – Turkish security forces neutralized five PKK terrorists in southern Hatay province, the governor's office announced Wednesday.</p> <p>Gendarmerie special operations teams killed the terrorists in an operation in the Mt. Amanos region, it said in a statement.</p> <p>The operation is ongoing, it added.</p> <p>Mt. Amanos — which is also known as Mt. Nur– is a range of mountains in Hatay that the PKK/PYD terror group has used to penetrate Turkey from Syria.</p> <p>In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people.</p> *Writing by Gozde Bayar
