SANLIURFA, Turkey (AA) – Turkish security forces on Friday arrested two PKK terrorists, security sources said.

A PKK/PYD terrorist, identified by the initials H.S., was held in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa while trying to enter Turkey from Syria, a security source told Anadolu Agency on the condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

Separately, another PKK terrorist, identified by the initials, E.B., was arrested in the eastern province of Elazig in an anti-terror operation, another security source said.

An infantry rifle, magazines and ammo were seized during the operation, the source added.

During its 30-year campaign against Turkey, the PKK — considered a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including numerous women and children.
