DOHA, Qatar (AA) – A Turkish products festival was launched Thursday in Qatar.

The festival — organized by Al Meera Group, the country’s leading retailer and supermarket chain — aims to introduce Turkish culture and cuisine and runs until Nov. 6.

Consumers will have the opportunity to sample Turkish pastries, dairy products, dry foods and dishes.

At the opening ceremony, Al Meera Group Chairman Thani Bin Thamer Bin Mohamed Al-Thani said Qatari consumers choose and like Turkish products.

Turkey’s ambassador to Doha, Fikret Ozer, said festivals like this develop relations between Turkey and Qatar.

“The trade volume between the two countries reached $1.3 billion in the first eight months of this year, and we hope this number will reach $2 billion by the end of the year,” he said.
