ANKARA (AA) – Three PKK terrorists were killed during ongoing air operations in northern Iraq Friday, according to the military.

The operation in northern Iraq’s Zap area was carried out from 10.46 a.m. (0746 GMT) to 11.32 a.m. (0832 GMT).

Turkish General Staff also said two shelters and a weapons pit were also destroyed.

Since it resumed its armed campaign in July 2015, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 1,200 security personnel and civilians, including women and children.

Meanwhile, two terrorists were killed in Turkey’s southeastern province of Mardin during anti-PKK operations, security sources said on Friday.
