ANKARA (AA) – Turkish manufacturing industry's capacity utilization rate fell month-on-month in February, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced on Friday.

The rate reached 74 percent this month, down 0.4 percentage points from January, according to the bank survey.

The capacity utilization rate (CUR) figures are based on responses to the bank's business tendency survey by local units operating in the manufacturing industry, according to the bank.

The bank said the monthly data does not reflect the bank’s views or predictions, while some 1,754 companies responded to the survey in February.

This month, among more than 20 sectors, the highest CUR — 81 percent — was seen among manufacturers of ready-wear apparel. February's lowest capacity usage was seen among manufacturers of leather and related products, with 57.7 percent.

In the six main industrial groups, the highest capacity usage was 73.3 percent for investment goods, while the lowest CUR was 69.7 percent for durable consumer goods.
