ANKARA (AA) – Turkish airstrikes “neutralized” 11 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq and in southeastern Hakkari province Tuesday, an unnamed military source told Anadolu Agency Wednesday.

Turkish F-16 and F-4 jets carried out the raids on positions of the PKK terrorist group in Avasin-Basyan in northern Iraq and in Turkey’s Hakkari, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media.

PKK — listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S., and EU — resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, more than 430 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards have been martyred, and more than 3,800 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
