ANKARA (AA) – Turkish jets destroyed 10 caves and shelters used by PKK terrorists in northern Iraq and Turkey’s southeast early on Tuesday, the military said.

The Turkish Armed Forces said the air operation took place in northern Iraq’s Zap region and Turkey’s Hakkari province.

The military did not give information about casualties.

On Monday, the Turkish military conducted two air operations in the Zap region, killing 34 PKK terrorists.

More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU — resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
