Turkish industrial output drops in September

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial production fell 3.8 percent in September compared to the previous month, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said in a statement Tuesday.

The mining and quarrying index fell 2.9 percent, and the manufacturing index dropped 3.9 percent for the same period.

The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply output also decreased 3.3 percent in September.

Producers of durable consumer goods saw the largest decline of 14.2 percent, according to the Main Industrial Groupings.

The total calendar-adjusted industrial turnover index, the correction for calendar variations including working day adjustments, dropped 3.1 percent in September compared with the same month last year, according to the data.
