ANKARA (AA) – The 2020 Turkish Grand Prix in Formula 1 will be held behind closed doors due to coronavirus fears, Istanbul Governorship confirmed on Monday.

The decision was announced after Istanbul City's Sanitation Committee approved city's pandemic board's recommendation.

Turkey will host a Grand Prix for the first time since 2011.

The Round 14 of the Formula 1 season will take place at the Istanbul Park in Tuzla district, located in the city's Asian side on Nov. 15.
