Turkish foundation launches int’l scholarship program

ANKARA (AA) – A Turkish foundation has launched an international scholarship program for students to study at Imam Hatip high schools (schools with Islamic syllabus) across Turkey.

Supported by the Presidency of Religious Affairs — Turkey’s top religious body — and Turkish Education Ministry, the Turkey Diyanet Foundation (TDV) Scholarship Program can be applied between March 1 – April 15 through the website of ‘diyanet.org.tr.’

Students in the scholarship program study at a total of seven schools in Turkish cities of Istanbul, Kayseri, Konya, Bursa and Sivas.

The program aims to contribute to the Islamic education of the Muslim communities as well as training qualified people in every aspect of Islam who will benefit their communities with their knowledge and experiences, according to the foundation.

According to the foundation, over 2,000 students from 110 countries continue to study at high school, bachelors, masters and PhD levels in Turkey under the scholarship program.

The foundation manages education projects in Turkey to students from 110 countries as well as ongoing educational activities in 21 schools in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Bulgaria, Somalia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Haiti and Pakistan.
